Joanne Whitney, 1934-2011

It was with shock and great sorrow that WILPF members learned of the death of Joanne Whitney on February 22, 2011. We knew Joanne as a loving and generous friend, tirelessly committed to peace and social justice. For many years she served as Corresponding Secretary and without being asked always took on the respnsibility of setting up the refreshments for meetings. Her visits to university campuses resulted in new members. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
